Albert Combrink


Albert Combrink (piano) completed his M MUS under Isabella Stengel at Natal University. He holds 3 UNISA Licentiates: Piano Performance, Accompaniment and Teacher's (Cum Laude). He has performed in Masterclasses with various musicians such as Anton Nel, Steven de Grootte, Martino Tirimo and singers Deon van der Walt, Gerda Hartmann and Werner Nel. He studied further with Bernd Goetzke at the Hanover Hochschule in Germany. Since making his concerto debut at 18 he has performed widely as soloist and orchestral pianist with conductors such as David Tidboald, Arjan Tien, Richard Cock, Francisco Bonin, Bernard Gueller and Chris Dowdeswell.

He is active as an accompanist and chamber-musician. He has performed at all the major Arts Festivals and concert venues in South Africa. He was repetiteur and vocal coach for the UCT Opera School under Prof. Angelo Gobbato. He was also repetiteur and Vocal Coach for Cape Town Opera in a wide range of productions from "La Boheme" to "Showboat" and "Porgy and Bess" which have toured Sweden and Germany.

He has been Musical Director and Repetiteur for various productions.
